Our Services

Comprehensive Assessments

We offer extensive occupational therapy assessments that include both standardized and observational components.

All of our assessments look at and include the following elements:

Gross Motor Movements
Fine Motor Control
Visual Perceptional Skills
Development Norms & Expectations
Activities of Daily Living

Each one of our assessments include direct assessment time, a parent feedback sessions and a full, comprehensive occupational therapy written report.

Therapy

Following our assessment process, we provide a high standard of direct occupational therapy services.

Every direct therapy session includes the following:

Sensory informed practices
Relationship based approach
Play based, child led activities
Co-regulation and support
Patience, understanding, and compassion

Consults

Along side direct therapy, we are more than happy to provide additional parent consults and support. We strive to increase parent confidence in supporting their children's individual needs.

We are more than happy to discuss the following:

Difficulties at home in connection to the child
Ways to increase sensory experiences at home
Ideas to further therapy into the home
Suggestions on how to approach difficult behaviours
Education on sensory processing, neurological sciences, and developmental norms

Team/IEP/School Meeting Support

We value being a part of a comprehensive team to support children to have consistency. We know that children need a village to encourage them to grow and develop to their fullest potential.

We are always more than willing to provide addition support including but not limited to the following:

IEP support and documentation
Home programs and activity ideas
Written letters of support
Meeting participation
Education on sensory processing, neurological sciences, and developmental norms

At Therapy Hub, our occupational therapists can provide therapeutic intervention to target a range of areas including, but not limited to the following areas:

Sensory Processing

We can support the development of any or all of the eight sensory systems including children with over, under or mixed responses to the sensory world. Our team has additional experience with interoception.

Feeding Concerns

We take a heavily sensory based approach in connection to feeding concerns. We follow elements of the

SOS approach to feeding and do not use behavioural strategies in connection to feeding.

Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)

Our team has a strong understanding of motor based movement challenges including motor planning concerns. We are able to provide specific support

to help children with developmental coordination disorder (dyspraxia).

Challenging Behaviours

Understanding the reason 'why' behvaiours are occurring is the first step to supporting the child. We see all challenging behaviours as a form of communication and firmly believe that there is always an underlying reason.

Fine Motor Development

We can use a varying range of interventions to support the development of grasp, hand function, bilateral control and printing ability.

Visual Perception Skills

We are on of the few clinics that offer support to develop visual perceptual skills that are the foundations for academic success and problem solving. These skills include form constancy, visual memory, closure, discrimination, spatial relations, sequencing, and figure ground.

Diagnosis

We support all children and youth no matter the diagnosis. However, our therapists have experience working with a range of diagnosis including, but not limited to, ASD, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, GDD, Down Syndrome, CP, and many more.

Executive Functioning

Our OTs are able to support the ability to develop all areas of executive functioning. We look at problem solving, planning, reasoning, time management, task initiation, flexibility and meta-cognition.
